Mohammed Navid Johari, Religion and Social Work

In this booklet the author, Mohammad Johari, describes the development of social work by the Prophet of Islam Muhammad in a main mosque in Medina during the 7th century. In addition, the author works out a theoretical comparison between the definition of social work made by the International Association of Social Workers and the German Federal Labour Court. The intent pursued by the author in this research is to understand how the Prophet of Islam did social work in practice and how his teaching can be implemented at an institutional level within the Muslim communities of our time.

Mohammad Johari works as a social pedagogue in Frankfurt and is committed to interreligious dialogue.
